While surfing the web, I stumbled upon this post on The Dallas Morning News photo blog. The picture (by Sonya Hebert) immediately grabbed me, and after reading the short description below the photo, the image became that much more powerful.
Turns out that this picture was pulled from a multimedia project, Choosing Thomas, which gives further context to the story.
To give a brief description, it's the story of family's decision to have their child, knowing that his life would only last a couple of days because of a genetic disorder.
One thing -- of many -- that impressed me with this story was the way it retains its objectivity through it all. In such an emotional situation, I think it must have been difficult to stay back and let the story unfold without getting involved in the story.

Wow, Daniel, I can see why it grabbed you. It did me as well. You can feel the love and emotion, the becoming parents in every sense of the word. Little Thomas's responses before he was born, this was a family loving each other to the end of this existence, prepared and entered into the next. Now Thomas will be waiting for his Mom and Dad and sister too along with Jesus. Thank you for sharing this.
